  1. Contribution to rice variety development: 1. CR Dhan-205: Selection from my PhD research material (N22 x Swarna RIL) 2. CR Dhan-801: Broken unholy linkage between drought tolerance gene & sd1 (Vikram et al. 2015), used the linkage free line for pyramiding drought QTLs and sub1 for development of multiple stress tolerance variety CR Dhan-801 3. IR64-Drt1 (DRR-42): Drought tolerant MAS variety (Two QTL Line).
  1. Unique core set formulation methodology: Developed a unique core set development method in which the high-density genomics data (discrete variables) was merged with phenotype information (continuous variables) in a matrix, which was further used for clustering and sample selection. This methodology helped in the recovery of ~90% rare alleles, which was the first of its kind (Vikram et al. 2016, 2021).
  1. Germplasm Resource Enrichment: Developed two wheat landrace core sets (Mexican & Iranian bread wheat landrace core sets) for use in breeding. These core sets are being used globally, including by ICAR scientists (Vikram et al. 2016, 2021).
  1. Contribution to Chenopodium quinoa breeding: Developed a crossing methodology in Chenopodium quinoa in which the Gynomonoecious flowers render it very difficult because hermaphrodite & female flowers look alike until the hermaphrodite flower opens up. (Vikram et al. 2025, MS under review).
