§ Climate change impact, adaptation and mitigation

ü Development and identification of Climate Resilient Agriculture practices for improving productivity and income of farming communities; building adaptive capacity and resilience to climatic risks as well as reduce or sequester GHGs

ü Assess impacts, adaptation and vulnerability of agriculture; and develop and modify the adaptation and mitigation strategies for policy inputs and National Communications to UNFCCC

ü Carbon, nitrogen, water, energy and ecological footprint

ü Applied nitrogen dynamics, losses and management strategies for different cropping systems

ü Identification of sources and sinks of greenhouse gases in agriculture

ü  Emission factor development, spatial and temporal inventories of greenhouse gases emissions from agro-ecosystems for policy input and National Communications to UNFCCC

§ Development of simulation models, forecasting and vulnerability assessment

ü Development of simulation models for various crops, cropping systems; development of various types of models including geo-spatial models, AI, ML-Simulation hybrid models, etc.

ü Development of Decision Support Systems, tools for agro-ecosystem analysis, ecosystem services, global and regional climate models data, etc.

ü Development of GCM/RCM ensemble-based agricultural season climate scenarios

ü Simulating spatial and temporal impacts of climate scenarios, adaptation gains, options and vulnerability of agro-commodities and systems for policy support and reporting to UNFCCC through MoEF&CC.

ü Projections on climate change impacts on major agricultural crops

ü Developing adaptive strategies for agricultural planning and resource management

ü Modelling spatial GHG emissions from

ü Modelling carbon and nitrogen dynamics, greenhouse gas emission and mitigation strategies

ü Monitoring of air pollutants and assessment of their impact on agriculture

ü Water pollution analysis, phyco-remediation of wastewater and application in agriculture for irrigation

ü Monitoring of heavy metals contaminations in crops and vegetables and risk assessment

ü Development of protocols/policy for sustainable use of waste and effluents

ü Quantification of crop residue burning and air pollution impact on agriculture

ü Identification PAHs contamination and their remediation strategies

ü Quantification of micro-plastics in environment and impact assessment on agriculture
